Located at 101 School Street, J.W. Fleming built the Cumming School in 1923. Unfortunately, lightning struck the school in 1927, but restored the same year. The School housed all grades until building of the high school in 1955. The building currently houses Forsyth County Historical Society, Bell Research Library, and the Cumming Playhouse theatre. The building is architecturally styled as a Greek revival building with Gothic elements.
