Located at 100 Kelly Mill Road, the house has been the home for three Cumming families: the Hudson’s, the Orr’s and the Redd’s. Originally built by Robert Montgomery in 1836, he and his wife, Elizabeth McConnell lived here until Robert’s death in 1859 when the house was sold to James Hudson.
The house changed hands and became Dr. Louis Orr’s birthplace, who would later become the President of the American Medical Association with a specialty in urology. Currently owned by Dr. Bryan Redd, his family has owned the home since 1933. This is the oldest house in the City of Cumming. The architecture is that of a gabled ell house with Italianate elements.
